Sontronics SATURN 2 - Multi-Pattern Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

SATURN 2 is a multi-pattern large-diaphragm condenser aimed at studios that need one microphone to cover a wide range of sources rather than a fixed-pattern specialist. Nine selectable positions — the five classic patterns of omni, subcardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid and figure-of-eight, plus four intermediate stops between them — give engineers far finer control over off-axis rejection and room pickup than a standard three-pattern switch allows.

That range of patterns is built around a single large-diaphragm capsule design, keeping tonal character consistent as you move between settings rather than the mic sounding like a different microphone at each pattern. Everything arrives ready to track: a shockmount and ABS flightcase are included alongside the mic itself, and like the rest of the range it runs on standard 48V phantom power through a 3-pin XLR connector.
