VanGuard Audio V1+Lolli Pencil Kit Condenser Microphone, Five Capsules

The Vanguard Audio V1+Lolli Pencil Kit turns the V1 pencil condenser microphone body into a five-capsule system, pairing it with four interchangeable 22mm small-diaphragm heads and the larger V34C "Lolli" capsule. As a pencil condenser microphone built around swappable capsules rather than one fixed voicing, it suits engineers who track drum overheads, acoustic instruments, and hi-hats one day and a vocal or room source the next, without reaching for a different microphone.

The four small capsules — cardioid, wide cardioid, hypercardioid, and omnidirectional — are each individually voiced rather than sharing one tuning across patterns, and use a front geometry meant to cut down on comb-filtering artifacts; their diaphragms measure 16mm at 4 microns of gold-sputtered Mylar. The V34C Lolli capsule is a different animal: a 34mm edge-terminated dual-capsule design with a 26.4mm, 3-micron gold-sputtered Mylar diaphragm, switchable between cardioid and omnidirectional, mounted in a CNC-machined aircraft-grade aluminum housing that spins 360 degrees on the V1 body for quick Y-axis repositioning without touching the stand.

Internally, the V1 body carries a transformer-balanced output stage built around a custom-wound, dual-bobbin humbucking transformer and a hand-biased, ultra-low-noise JFET, with cryogenic treatment applied to the critical parts in the signal path. The full kit — V1 body, the four 22mm capsules, the V34C Lolli capsule, the VSSM shockmount, and a locking aluminum storage case — ships as one package, so every capsule configuration is ready to mount straight out of the case.
