Steven Slate VSX - Immersion One

Immersion One takes Slate's studio monitor modeling to an open-back headphone, aimed at engineers doing immersive and Dolby Atmos-oriented monitoring as much as stereo mixing. Where the closed-back VSX headphones prioritize isolation, Immersion One trades some of that isolation for a more open, speaker-like soundstage, using planar magnetic drivers instead of the closed-back model's driver design — a deliberate choice, since convincing spatial and Atmos monitoring depends on a sense of depth and placement that closed-back designs find harder to deliver.

Each earcup uses a planar magnetic driver roughly 97 by 76mm with a one-micron diaphragm, covering a 20Hz–40kHz range at 32 ohms, thin enough to track fast transients closely — useful when you're trying to place objects accurately in an immersive mix. Immersion One ships with the full Platinum software tier already included, so every studio, room, car, and club profile in that library is unlocked from the start, on top of a set of dedicated immersive, Atmos-oriented room profiles that the closed-back editions don't carry.
