Overview
This black-finished STC-2 is a large-diaphragm cardioid condenser built around a 32mm K67-style capsule, tuned for vocals and voiceover as much as it is for acoustic guitar, piano and drums. Its frequency balance leans toward a smooth, controlled top end rather than an aggressively bright one, so recordings tend to sit in a mix without needing much corrective EQ afterward.
Two switches on the body — a -10dB pad and a 75Hz high-pass filter — handle louder sources and rumble without external processing. The pack arrives complete with a custom shockmount, pop filter, XLR cable and storage pouch, so there is nothing extra to source before tracking begins; it just needs 48V phantom power from an interface, mixer or preamp.
