Sontronics DM-1S - Small-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone for Snare

The DM-1S is a small-diaphragm condenser built specifically for snare duty, kept short at around 10cm so it tucks in above a snare without colliding with cymbals or a busy hi-hat setup. Its cardioid capsule is aimed at picking up the full character of a snare hit — the crack of the stick, the buzz of the wires, the body of the shell — without the mic itself getting in a drummer’s way.

A true 24mm condenser capsule sits at the front of the mic, paired with a -10dB pad switch that lets it handle SPLs up to 135dB when the snare is hit hard. It ships with a mic clip that works equally well on a boom stand or an add-on rim mount, speeding up placement when a whole kit needs miking against the clock.
