Overview

The DM-1B is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed for one job: sitting in front of a kick drum or a bass amp and capturing the low end without folding under the pressure. It is an end-fire design, meaning the capsule faces out of the top of the mic body rather than the side, so it is meant to be aimed straight into the drum’s front head or nudged just inside the port hole.

Inside is a 32mm capsule modelled on the classic K67 style associated with vintage large-diaphragm designs, chosen for its full, rounded low-frequency character. A -15dB pad switch lets the DM-1B handle SPLs up to 155dB without distorting, while its low self-noise rating keeps it clean even when picking up quieter bass instruments rather than just kick drums.
