Privacy Policy

proaudiogear.in sells professional audio equipment, studio gear, instruments and content creation tools. With our head office in Pune for cross counter sales, we also sell online through our website, proaudiogear.in.

This policy covers the website and anything that comes out of it: an order, an account, a newsletter signup, a message you send us. Our store runs on Shopify, so Shopify holds and processes a good deal of this data for us. Where that matters, we have said so below.

Most of what we hold, you gave us yourself when you bought something or wrote to us.

• Your name, email address and phone number, plus your studio or company name if you gave one.
• Billing and shipping addresses, what you ordered, what it cost, and any delivery instructions.
• Your GSTIN, if you asked for a GST invoice.
• Your login and your order history, if you opened an account.
• Whatever you write to us: product questions, support requests, WhatsApp messages, messages through our social accounts.
• Whether you subscribed to the newsletter, and whether you later unsubscribed.
• Technical information that cookies pick up: IP address, browser and device, the pages you looked at, what went into your cart, and how you reached the site.

Payments are a separate matter. Our payment gateway handles those. We see that a payment went through, the method used, and the last four digits of a card. Full card numbers, CVV codes and UPI PINs never reach us.

We have no reason to ask for health records, biometrics or identity documents, and we do not.

For orders and accounts we process your information because there is no way to deliver what you asked for otherwise. For the newsletter and for the optional cookies, we go on your consent.

You can take that consent back whenever you want. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, or you can just email us. Unsubscribing stops the marketing. It will not stop us emailing you about an order still in progress, and it does not undo anything already done.

We have never sold customer data and we are not going to. Nobody gets your details in order to market their own products to you.

These are the people who do see it, because the order cannot happen otherwise:

• Shopify, which hosts the store and holds the order records.
• Our payment gateway, which takes the money.
• The courier carrying your parcel, who needs your name, address and phone number.
• The service that sends our order emails and the newsletter.
• Analytics tools that tell us how the site is being used.
• A brand or its Indian distributor, when a warranty claim or a product registration has to go to them.
• Our accountant.

Past that, we will hand over information if a court or a government authority is legally entitled to it, or if we need it to defend ourselves in a dispute.

Some of these companies sit outside India. Shopify is one of them.

Cookies are small files your browser stores on our behalf. We use them to:

• hold your cart together between pages and into checkout
• keep you signed in and remember your preferences
• keep the store secure
• count visits and see which pages get read
• check whether our advertising is worth what we spend on it

The first three have to work or the store does not. The last two are optional.

Your browser can block cookies, or warn you each time one arrives. The setting is somewhere under Settings or Preferences in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. Block them and the cart will keep emptying itself. If that happens, call or WhatsApp us on +91 844 622 6222 and we will take the order directly.

Invoices and order records stay for as long as tax law requires us to keep them. Account details stay while the account exists. Newsletter records stay until you unsubscribe. Support conversations we hold on to while a warranty could still be claimed against them.

After that we delete the record, or strip out the parts that point back to you.

The site runs over HTTPS, so what you type into it is encrypted on the way to us. Card data goes straight to a PCI DSS compliant payment provider and never touches our systems.

Inside the business, only the people who handle orders and support can open customer records. Shopify patches and monitors the platform itself.

We are not going to tell you this is airtight, because no store's is. If something does go wrong and it affects you, we will tell you, and we will report it to the Data Protection Board of India.

We sell professional equipment to adults. We do not knowingly take personal information from anyone under 18 without a parent's consent. If a child has given us their details, tell us and we will remove them.

We will update this page when the business changes, when we start using a new tool, or when the law moves. The date at the top is the date it last changed.
