    Overview

    Novation LAUNCHKEY 88 MK4 88-Key Semi-Weighted MIDI Keyboard

The Novation Launchkey 88 MK4 is an 88-key semi-weighted USB MIDI keyboard and DAW controller. It combines a full-size keybed with 16 velocity-sensitive pads, eight endless encoders, nine faders and a 128 x 64 OLED display, and is powered over USB-C.

The keybed has 88 semi-weighted piano-style keys with waterfall edges. The 16 RGB pads respond to velocity and polyphonic aftertouch for drums, chords and clip launching. Scale Mode locks the keyboard to one of 30 built-in scales, and the Chord Detector shows the chord being played on the OLED display. Chord Map, Fixed Chord and User Chord modes help build progressions, and the generative arpeggiator has an 8-step editor with tie, accent and ratchet controls. The keyboard can also be split into two zones or layered across two MIDI channels.

Eight encoders and nine faders map to the DAW mixer, virtual instruments and effects, with custom integration for Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, FL Studio, Reason, Bitwig and Ardour and compatibility with other DAWs through HUI. Custom Modes created in Novation Components let you map pads, encoders and faders yourself. A 5-pin DIN MIDI out connects hardware synths, and a sustain pedal input is provided. The hardware is NKS-ready, and a software bundle is included.
